Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Sometimes we know a difficult experience is in the past, but it doesn't feel like it's in the past.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process traumatic experiences, distressing memories, and negative beliefs that may continue to impact their daily lives. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain reprocess experiences that have become "stuck" and reduce the emotional distress associated with them.
EMDR is commonly used to treat trauma and PTSD, but it can also be effective for anxiety, grief, panic, phobias, low self-esteem, and other experiences that continue to affect how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you.
At our practice, EMDR therapy helps clients process difficult experiences in a safe and structured way, allowing them to move forward with greater confidence, emotional freedom, and resilience. The goal is not to erase the past, but to reduce its influence on the present.
When painful memories no longer feel as overwhelming, it becomes easier to focus on the life you want to live rather than the experiences you've been carrying.
