Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Sometimes talking about a painful experience over and over isn't what helps people heal.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals process distressing memories, trauma, anxiety, grief, and other emotional challenges without needing to spend extensive time discussing every detail of what happened. Using a combination of guided eye movements and visualization techniques, ART helps the brain process difficult experiences in a new way, often reducing the emotional intensity associated with them.
Many people seek ART when they feel stuck. They may understand why they feel the way they do, yet continue to experience anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional distress, nightmares, physical tension, or reactions that seem disproportionate to the present moment. ART works by helping the brain reprocess these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional weight.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy has been used to help individuals struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, phobias, difficult life experiences, and distressing memories. Clients often appreciate that ART is structured, focused, and does not require them to repeatedly retell painful stories in order to experience relief.
At our practice, ART is integrated into treatment when appropriate and tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Whether you are working through a specific event or carrying the effects of experiences that have accumulated over time, ART can be a powerful tool for creating meaningful change and helping you move forward.
Healing does not require forgetting what happened. It means reducing the hold those experiences have on your present life so you can respond to the future with greater freedom, confidence, and peace.
